Good Bye, Nemo

My friend Tammie gave Lindsey her beloved Nemo pajamas on her 2nd birthday. Love doesn't even adequately describe how she has felt about her "Nemos" over the past 3 years. I have tried to move them out of her closet, only for her to quickly notice they are gone and demand them back. One day in December, she put them on and announced she thought they were now too small. Really, Lindsey? You think size 2 pajamas that are now capri length, have 3/4 length sleeves and a hole in the seat are too small?!?!??
She put them on one last time for us to snap a few shots and then they were officially retired that night into her keepsake box. Any bets on when she'll willingly retire pappy?!?

Sure, Lindsey

WHY do I ever say sure or yes to Lindsey when she asks me a question that involves paint, crayons, glitter, or in this case hair paint sticks.

Her friend Jay was over and she just wanted a little stripe of hair paint down the sides of her hair. My foolish response was, "Sure, just don't make a mess." She and Jay headed off to my bathroom. As I went about making dinner and straightening up, I lost track of time and wasn't paying attention to what other kids might be going in and out of my bedroom.

When it dawned on me that I hadn't seen Lindsey and Jay for a while, I went looking and this is what I found.

Hello, little instigator of all things messy. How nice you look with blue hair. It looks great all over the bathroom floor as well.

A little nail polish for Jay would have completed the look.
Madison went with the matching rubber band braces look.

And Molly...she went all out with all of the colors.

We really like Copeland and Jay and enjoy having them down to play. Wasn't so sure how thrilled Jonathan and Elizabeth would have been with their hair painted kiddos so the play date ended with a bath for Jay and Lindsey and a shower for Molly and Copeland and a big ole glass of wine for me!

Sea World

Sea World was all decorated for Christmas which was a fun way to kick off the holiday season. It was the perfect mix of animal shows (for Lindsey) and rides (for Molly and David).
After a few animal shows, David and Molly were ready to split off and head for the rides. Grandaddy joined them while B, Lindsey and I were happy to catch more shows and hang out watching the Sea Lions. Lindsey was kicked back in the stroller, eating cheetos, drinking diet coke, and rubbing Vaseline all over herself. Good times for Lindsey Lou!

David spotted Manta when we first got into the park. While we headed to feed the sting rays, he rode Manta and LOVED it. After a few more times, he even got Granddaddy on it and he is not a roller coaster guy. He survived and has the hat to prove it.

We were able to feed and "pet" the sting rays. They'd swim along the side of the open tank and splash their fins for you to touch. Really cool!
The Dolphin show was my favorite. Amazing animals. Lindsey enjoyed both the dolphins and the cotton candy treat.
Elmo was really happy to see B when she walked up. Looks like B is a fan of Elmo as well. Quite an embrace, B!
B and her girls with Elmo and Zoe.
Amazing dolphins up close. We "rode" the Polar Express simulation ride which dropped us off at the North Pole. Molly was excited to see Santa, talk to a few elves, and see the Beluga Whales.
Hanging out in the North Pole.

Lindsey was not going near Santa but she would at least let the girl elf get close to her.

Thanks for the fun, B and Grandaddy.

Sweet Sea World dreams, Lindsey.

Thanksgiving in Florida

We spent Thanksgiving in sunny Florida with B and Grandaddy. Very low key and lots of pool time which the girls LOVED. We got our nails done one day and did a little shopping while the boys checked out some of Granddaddy's Habitat projects. They then found a local bar that serves over 100 different kinds of beer. Needless to say, David loved his day out with G-daddy as much as we loved our girls day out with B.
A Thanksgiving Day hug for Daddy from his sweet girls.
Lindsey made the name cards for all the plates and was a great helper in the kitchen.

Water girl!

B had several craft kits for the girls. Molly loved weaving the best. B and Grandaddy sent the girls on a scavenger hunt to let them know we were going to Sea World as an early Christmas present. Two VERY excited girls..and two excited parents as well!

A great Thanksgiving and we have so much to truly be thankful for. Family, good health, friends, David's job, and of course our sweet and fun girls.

Halloween Treat

Madison and Well's Granny and Old Daddy had quite the Halloween treat in store for the kids. They arrived at their house and were greeted by Granny the Witch and Old Daddy the Pirate.
The hearth was decorated as a pumpkin patch; she had pumpkin luminaries around, they got to play "instruments" she had pulled from the kitchen, and go on a scavenger hunt. Old Daddy then told them a story about The Great Pumpkin Patch and each one of them was a character in the story. A great afternoon put on by two great, fun, creative people!

Chuck E. Cheese

I swore I'd NEVER let either of the girls have a party at Chuck E. Cheese. It's usually total chaos and just more kids running around than I can deal with on any given day. When Lindsey said she wanted her party there, it was hard to not say anything but yes. She asks for so little and she only wanted to invite the boys; Case, Jay, and Wyatt and we'd go right after school. Turns out, it was a great, low key, and fun party. Several hours at Chuck E. Cheese and then the gang came back to our house for another couple of hours. Love how those 4 can't get enough of each other and always get along and have such fun together.

Lindsey on the bike that you're suppose to petal. She was content to sit there and let it just spin her around.

This is Lindsey's disco move. She's up at the stage "doing disco" to the Mouse Band.

A visit from Chuck E. himself. Notice no Lindsey. She's not a fan of Chuck E. No way was she going up to him on her own.

The "My Little Pony" she had been asking for. Thanks, Case!

Happy Birthday, Lindsey!

Preschool Celebration

After having to spend her real birthday at home being sick, Lindsey was excited to get to school to celebrate with her friends.

Ms. Joye, Case, and Lindsey. She was so excited to wear the birthday hat AND to be the first in the class to turn 5.

Lindsey and her boys.

Five...already?!?
