Molly's First Dance

Molly and David were both excited to get an invitation to a Daddy/Daughter dance at Ann Ryan's school. On Friday afternoon, David picked Molly up from school and they headed out for Daddy/Daughter haricuts. Molly LOVED the curls and all of the product "Miss Genie" put in her hair. David also surprised her with a corsage which she thought was "lovely."

Molly came through the door around 7:45 p.m. exhausted. David said they danced for about an hour straight and then Molly wanted to sit down because she had a stomach ache. He thought it might be from the 2 cupcakes, cookie, and punch she had!?! David then proceeded to tell me, he had to dance "Shout" and a few other songs by himself????? Needless to say, David had a great time even when his date was down for the count. A funny visual of David at an Elementary School dance out there by himself, sweating, busting moves to "Shout." Once we got Molly tucked into bed, he hopped on the couch with a coke and watched cartoons. Gotta love a guy that's still a kid at heart. I know Molly, Lindsey, and I do....

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy "Balentine's Day" from the Cerra family. Sweet daddy made it a special
morning for all of his girls.

That daddy knows how to pick cards. Molly's was a princess card with a mirror in it. Much like the card he bought me for Christmas when we were "dating" in the 8th grade. :)

Lindsey's card came with a princess barrette. She's much happier with this than a bow these days. I think our bow days are over. Sad for mommy.

Mmmmm...can't go wrong with a box of chocolates.

And flowers for all his girls. Orange for Lindsey, pink for Molly, and red for mommy.

February Randomness

Random pictures from random happenings in February.

Molly went to her first roller skating party. They also had a germ pit area where she spent a good bit of the party. She liked roller skating but decided running around with Ella was more fun. I enjoyed putting on a pair of roller skates for the first time since 1980. Couldn't "shoot the duck" or skate backwards, but I did make it around the rink without falling down which felt like a major accomplishment.

Between class and Raleigh, David is only home during the week for dinner Monday night. The girls have decided to make Monday night dinners extra special. Last night, Molly found glass balls, candles, and jeweled fruits to decorate the table. She also put her corsage in the middle of the table as well for all of us to enjoy. Lindsey knows how to really make her daddy happy, she put a whole bottle of wine in front of his place setting.

Our little archaeologist, Lindsey. I will buy one of these kits again. My child that doesn't sit still worked at this for an entire hour until she found all the dinosaur bones. And I cleaned up rocks and pebbles for an hour after dino was put together. Might be better to do outside next time.

Goofy girls playing dress up, house, dance, and school. All the favorites these days...

As soon as we had a hint of a warm day, the girls wanted to wash the car. Any excuse to get wet and put on their rain boots!

Playground fun at Polo Road Elementary.

Another one of our special Monday night dinners. In case you can't read scribble, the sign says, "No dogs allowed." Willow drools at the sight and smell of tasty food and it sends the girls (and their daddy) over the edge!

After school last week, Molly came in and requested that I lock her in the dog crate. Sure...no problem! They each had a snack and a drink and stayed in the cages for...not enough time!

Grammy and Ernie's Visit

We had a fun visit with Grammy and Ernie before they left for Florida for a cruise. As always, we had a great time having them here.

Lindsey came down all dressed in capri pants, a short sleeve shirt, a white purse, and bunny slippers and was ready for the 20 degree day. Grammy got to experience first hand the joys of getting two girls dressed each morning in something remotely appropriate. Lindsey is striking her new pose in her summer/but wear it in the winter get-up.

Another get-up from Molly. It was in the 30's, and dark, and she came down in white church shoes that are 2 sizes to big wearing her "Hawaii" dress. A perfect outfit for a cold winter night.

Molly got to go to Madison's party at Justice and she was THRILLED. She wore her Justice shirt and wanted to make sure David took many pictures of her before leaving for the party. She came home with arm warmers and wearing make-up. As you can imagine, the arm warmers didn't come off for a few days. THANK goodness we go to a uniform school so it makes school days a little less of a battle. No arm warmers allowed!!!

We had one good weather day so the girls headed to the fort for a picnic dinner. Again, in less than appropriate clothes. Skeleton pajamas, rain boots, and Molly sporting the arm warmers...again.

As always, Ernie was a good sport and participated in Lindsey's music show. Her favorite song to sing, Jingle Bells has a Lindsey twist. "Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all they way, oh what fun it is to ride, Old McBride, zasa nah...."

Lindsey LOVES Jayden. Always a thrill when he comes over.

David's dream came true - Columbia had a beer festival that featured over 200 beers and you got to drink as much as you wanted in 4 hours. Needless to say, he did, as did the other boys. They had a great time even though they got dropped off and picked up in front of the festival in a mini van with mama driving! :)

Hannah and David.

Poor Cinderella. Every time Diane comes into town I have some project I involve her in. This time is was curtains and she is hand sewing the rings on while I dropped off the boys at the beer festival.

The girls made a cake with Grammy and David for my birthday. As you can tell, Molly can hardly wait to try it out.

Brave, brave Ernie. Lindsey cutting his hair with an electric razor. Surprisingly, no cuts on Ernie's head!!
